About Patriot Equity Credit Union

Patriot Equity Credit Union is a non-profit cooperative organization created for the purpose of providing financial services to its members. Every member is a shareholder or "owner" of the Credit Union.

Founded in 1929, Patriot Equity Credit Union is a community chartered credit union serving the people of Madison County. If you live, work, worship, attend school, are an enterprise or organization; are a director, employee, volunteer, or retiree of the above mentioned; in Madison County, you are eligible for membership. Additionally, Patriot Equity Credit Union serves the employees and family members of the U.S. Postal Service, employees of the Federal Government, Railroad Employees, small employee groups, and family members.

The Credit Union operates with a non-paid Board of Directors, a salaried manager and salaried staff. The Credit Union policies are determined by the Board of Directors. These volunteers are elected by the membership at the annual meeting.

What this means to you:
When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.

How to Become a Member

Apply to Join Now!

To become a member, all you will need is $30.00 to start your new share/savings account. The $25.00 is the minimum balance to open the account, and the $5.00 is your one-time membership fee. We will need proof of your name, birth date, address, social security number, and driver's license number. After you open a share/savings account, you are eligible to sign up for all other services.

What this means for you: when you request to open an account, we will ask for your full name including middle name, your physical address, date of birth, social security number or tax identification number, or other information that will allow us to identify you. We will require a photo identification issued by a government agency, which would typically be your driver’s license, or state issued identification card.

Patriot Equity Credit Union will also obtain a credit report prior to opening an account for you. Based on your credit rating, Patriot Equity Credit Union may not offer you all of our services and products or may deny your account request. If you do not wish for Patriot Equity Credit Union to obtain a credit rating, we will not be able to open an account for you.
